More About Me

I am here to hold a space for you to process your feelings, validate your experiences, and remind you that you are not alone.

I am here for you!

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with over a decade of experience in the state of California (Lic. 112847). I am the founder and owner of cozy nest counseling, a wife, a soccer mom, a professional student, and a recovering people-pleaser and perfectionist. I’ve spent significant time working with youth and their families through school-based therapy programs, as well as outpatient and inpatient hospital settings and crisis centers. I am passionate about supporting parents as they experience transitions to parenthood, which sometimes results in postpartum depression, anxiety, and stress. Given my personal experience, I bring an empathetic lens to others while still respecting each individual’s life experience and perspectives. I am a careful listener who honors your own life journey, as I believe the therapeutic relationship should be one of authenticity, collaboration, and one that feels safe and supportive.

I am passionate about supporting you through the transition of becoming a new parent.

I bring a unique perspective on transitions to my practice and patient collaboration- I’ve supported and been through my own. I’m a parent myself, so I know firsthand what motherhood looks and feels like. I myself struggled with perinatal and postpartum mental health. I serve as a volunteer crisis and disaster counselor with the American Red Cross and a resiliency counselor for the Armed Forces. These experiences help me support others so their emotions are not running the show. Those I support are shepherded to a new understanding of achieving a balanced perspective and a better and more joyful life. I bring my varied experiences to bear in helping you navigate the challenges you face.

I find joy in walking, yoga, and meditation. As a mom and wife, I fill my non-working days with walks, kayaking, cuddling with my pup Koda, taking naps, playing in the sea and sand with my family, talking with my kids, sushi, going to the beach, and spending as much time as I can with my grandparents. Volunteering is my jam. I serve as  a crisis and disaster counselor with the American Red Cross and a resiliency counselor with the Armed Forces.

I’ve always had a heart for people, even as a tiny child. Growing up my parents divorced, leaving me with sad and lonely feelings. I wore a mask, hiding my emotions, leaving me isolated. I knew I wanted to work with others.  While taking a college course on divorce I recognized my struggles were not mine alone. It was a lightbulb moment. I knew I wanted to be a therapist to support the emotional journey of others. I got my BA in Child & Family Development, then went on to complete my MS in counseling and psychology.

How can I help you?
